Tenerife Island Council Announces Major Infrastructure Upgrade

Massive Investment to Enhance Transportation and Connectivity

New Tunnel Construction to Boost Economic Growth

The Council of Tenerife has announced a significant new phase in its infrastructure development, with a focus on enhancing transportation and connectivity across the island. The Council has secured a generous budget of 16 billion euros from the Spanish government, marking a major investment in the Canary Islands' infrastructure.

A key highlight of this investment is the construction of a new tunnel, which is expected to revolutionize the TF-1 motorway that encircles the eastern and southern parts of Tenerife. The tunnel will significantly reduce travel times and improve accessibility between different regions of the island, fostering economic growth and tourism.

A breakthrough in the construction of the tunnel was achieved on Monday, marking a milestone in the project. The new tunnel is expected to significantly reduce traffic congestion, improve air quality, and enhance the overall quality of life for residents and visitors.

In a press conference held after the Governing Council meeting on Thursday, Julio Perez, the President of the Council of Tenerife, unveiled the plans for the new infrastructure projects. He emphasized the government's commitment to improving the island's connectivity and supporting its economic development.
